Identifying story status within column

I had an issue where my burndown was not accurate and realised it was because I was using a Released column and not moving to Done. I recently discovered that I can assign multiple statuses to a single column which allows me to select the status when I transition to that column. 

However, now I can’t see how to identify stories by their status within that column.

Is there a way I can see the story status (Released/Done) on my board within the column?

Hi Steven - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Go to Board Settings > Card Layout

Then add the Status field to the card.

Note that Card Layout customization is available only for Company Managed projects/Boards. If you are working with a Team Managed project/board, that is not an option but there is a change request to add that.
