I would like to copy a board but without the existing tickets. How do i do so?

I have copied over board but it has all the tickets attached.

I just want to add and delete new/old  tickets to this board without it syncing to the original

Candy, understand that a board is based upon a query of the DB. It provides a visual view of issues that fall within that filter. So copying a board would always result in displaying the same issues. Now, that said what can then be done is to change your underlying filter to expose the issues that you do wish to display.

For example, let's say your board filter is based upon a filter like project = 123. That filter (and board) will then display all issues in the 123 project. If you copy it and give it a new name it will still be exactly the same as the original. However, if you then edit it and change the filter to be project = ABC then the board will show all issues in project ABC. NOTE: if you have any other filters in the board associated w/ 123 then you will need to change these as well, e.g. quick filters, swimlanes, etc. 

Generally, I find creating a board from scratch is often times easier but that really depends on how specific and widespread your filters are.

To see if you truly are on Server, login to Jira and choose the dashboard menu, then you will see the version of your Jira in the footer of the page! Cloud instances do not have this versioning!
