I would like to quickly be able to only show issues that belongs to epics in progress in the Kanban board which has swim lanes based on Epics.

Hi @Ellen Sundh and welcome,

try to setup a quick filter (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-quick-filters/)

Hope this helps,

Hello @Ellen Sundh

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Usually when you want to temporarily limit the issues shown on a board you would use a Quick Filter as @Fabio Racobaldo _Catworkx_ suggested.

However there is not a native JQL statement for getting a set of child issues based on the status of the parent Epic. You would need a third party app to create the correct JQL filter to use in your Quick Filter.

Do you have any third party apps already available that extend the capabilities of JQL functions for filtering issues?
