I want to change assignee of the issue when change state to some project role. How to do it?

Preconditions:

I have the Cloud server.
I have statuses: "In progress" and "Ready for QA" in my flow. I have the project Role "Tester".  I have a transition "Complete dev" from "In progress" to "Ready for QA"

The problem:

I want to add a "postfunction" so to change Assignee from the developer to ROLE "Tester".

When I try to do it I do not see an option to change Assignee to Project role.

How to change Assignee to Project Role, not component lead and not to a specific person?

Hi @Evgeniy Nechaiev  -- Welcome to the Atlassian community!

The assignee field is a specific person (user) of JIRA, not a generic role that multiple people belong to.

What problem are you trying to solve? 

Are you trying to mark the item as available for someone in the "Tester" role to pull for work?  If so, perhaps you just need to notify people that the item is available to be worked on, and they can self-assign, based upon their availability.

I do not agree with you. Very bad Idea to link Assignee to a person. I want to create a general workflow for ALL my projects. I need to change an Assignee of the project to the Lead of my testers. I do not want to copy the workflow and configure each project separately. It is too long. I saw in documentation that possible to set Assignee to a project role.

Hi, and sorry that you disagree with me.  I was not sharing my opinion: I was sharing how JIRA works in regards to the Assignee field.

@Bill Sheboy thank you for your assist. But I sure that I have managed my JIRA project by roles 3-4 years ago. Maybe it is a feature for Server or Enterprise versions only :-( I provided part of the screen where you can see "Assign to role member". When I can see my cloud version I see only options to assign to Reporter, Lead, or Current User. :-(

I want to understand why I have no full options list.
