Hi, my boss created a project and added me as an admin for it, but I don't have those capabilities and I need to work on creating different boards, setting up filtered views and a few more things. Do you know what may be happening?

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? That information displays at the bottom of the panel on the left.
Is the project a Software project, Service project, or Business/Work Management project?
Can you tell us the specific steps you are trying to execute to create different boards, set up filtered views, "and a few more things"?
Hi! I'm on a team managed one. This is being used for a dev & customer team, for registering bugs, enhancements, errors, etc. So my main goal is to create different views to organize the tickets.

What i don't understand is why I'm not seing all the options/configurations if the project creator already gave me admin access. I tried creating a board of my own and I see everything I need to use, but the permissions are not working on the other board

Team Managed projects don't support creation of additional boards the same way Company Managed project do.
A Team Managed project gets one board created for it when the project itself is created. You don't get a pull down option that lets you create additional boards for the same project, like you do for Company Managed projects.
You can create additional boards (refer to this article) but they won't show in a pull down list in the navigation panel for a Team Managed project.
Beyond that, to address your other concerns I'll need you to provide details about the steps you are trying to execute, what you expect to see happen, and what is actually happening.

Yes, both Team and Company managed projects are available in the Free subscription.
Only Jira Admins can create Company Managed projects.
