I need some extra help with setting up Jira for business tasks?

I am a newby to Jira. I have a problem where I need to lock out the user from setting the resolution but I have managed to lock myself out of being able to set it. I suspect it has to do with permissions and screens. I have created workflows and screens and screen schemes and a whole raft of settings trying to figure this out but now I am so turned around and can't seem to back myself out of it. Where do I start?

Hi Dan,

It can be related to permission but also you must check if you didn't remove the field "Resolution" from the screen.

Please, go to the project settings and click on "Permissions". You will see the "Resolve issues" and on the right side, it shows who can do this. Usually is "Any logged in user" and if it's not set to anyone, you must set who can do this.

To check the screen, go to Jira Settings > Issues > Screens and search for the "Resolve issue screen" associated with your project. Then click on "Configure" and if the field is not listed, just search it on "Search field".

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Angélica
