I'm trying to connect to Jira using a BI tool, do I need Atlassian admin support to do this? I tried on my own but received an error ( not validated ).

Please be informed any external tool integration with Jira will need to be enabled in the backend by the Jira admin. They will need to check the billing clearances and enable for projects to use.

That is entirely dependent on the tool you are using and the requirements it has for integration with Jira.

You should also include with your post which hosting type you have for Jira - Cloud or Server/Data Center

It is called QuickSights, functions just like Microstrategy
