I have 2 Kanban Boards within the same Jira Project. How can I separate/organize issues for boards?

Deleted user December 16, 2022

I have one Jira Project called "Client Implementations." Within that project, I have 2 Kanban Boards called Property 1 and Property 2.

How do I separate the Jira Issues that are relative to Kanban Boards: Property 1 and Property 2? Is there a way I can move these Issues so they will only show up for that 1 Kanban board?

Every time I delete a test issue, it will delete from the entire project. When I only wanted the test issue to NOT show on that particular Jira board. I just want to separate Jira tickets to either Property 1 KanBan Board or Property 2 Kanban Board.

How do I do that? Please ask questions, not sure if that was clear.

Hi @[deleted] welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I would create a custom field with values 'Property 1' and 'Property 2'.

Then mark all issues with the correct property and filter the Kanban Board based on the property value.

Thank you @Dave Mathijs !

Would I be creating a custom field as a label? So label issues as either Property 1 or property 2 and filter the kanban board by a label?

You can use a label, single line text, select list, radio buttons ... whatever custom field type suits best.

You can even use Components if that suits you better.

Thank you so much, I created the customer files for the Kanban boards. You're the best!
