I cannot find my JIRA CORE Account

tsaito@gotinterface.com August 17, 2018

Getting frustrated!  No answers on my questions.  I create an account in JIRA Software and built out some projects.  Later I found I really need JIRA Core.  I created JIRA Core projects yesterday.  Now I am unable to access them or find them.  How do I move my projects in JIRA Software to JIRA Core?

Hi Michael,

Are you still able to access the projects you built out in Jira Software? Is this Cloud or on prem?

I'm curious as to how you created the Jira Core projects, and why you felt you needed Core instead of Software. The way I understand it, Jira Software is just Jira Core with additional features for software development. So, my first thought is that when you build out the Jira Core projects you actually built them in your Software instance, if you can get to the software instance check to see if they are there.

I am in JIRA Cloud.  Many of my projects are more in line with the business and project management application set up.  Thought that was the way yo go.  I am logged into JIRA Software.  I do not see my projects created yesterday (done in JIRA Core)

Are the projects you created in Jira Software available?

How did you move from Software to Core? It sounds like you downloaded Jira Core and set up a new instance, is that correct?

I do see my projects originally created in JIRA Software.  I did download CORE.  My Guess is they are separate and I would need to transfer my projects from one to the other.

That's what it sounds like...You probably created a separate instance of Jira Cloud with the Core download. I've never tried moving projects from one instance to another; if it is possible I'm sure I can figure it out.

Are you able to access both the Software instance and the Core instance? (I'm assuming so, but wanted to ask just to be sure.) If so I'll do some testing to see if I can move projects.

Okay....Assuming you can get to both instances and want to transfer your projects from Software to Core here is the documentation on how to do it.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver074/restoring-a-project-from-backup-881684008.html?_ga=2.164067647.1070879821.1534162821-1974538631.1533138395#Restoringaprojectfrombackup-projectimport

If, however, you are unable to find or access your Core instance you may need some help from Atlassian to locate it.

Hello, tsaito@gotinterface.com

Do I understand correctly that you created two different Cloud instances? one is with Jira Software and another one with Jira Core? Now you want to merge all projects from Jira Software to Jira Core? If so, then I beleive there is no such functionality in Cloud as a project import. I think you should manually create all projects in your Jira Core Cloud and then use export/import issues to csv file to fill these projects with issues.

Another way is to merge two Cloud instances in a Jira Server and then restore this Server instance to your Jira Core Cloud. It is also possible, but more complicated.
