I can not match with the asignee in a bulk upload for issue tasks

Something changed. I used to upload the asignees for the stories of a project with the firts letter of his name and the complete last name. By example, Carlos Noria as cnoria.
For some reason now its not working, and i am not able now to upload new asignees
