I added a step to the Workflow and now when clicking on the button Jira is forcing an edit

I added a step to the workflow and now when you click on the button inside the issue to transition to the next step  the edit issue screen pops up.  One one workflow it is forcing a user to select a resolved status when clicking the In Progress button with the Simplified workflow.

How do I get this to stop opening the edit issue screen?

Can you check if you have added the "edit" screen on the workflow transition? Each workflow transition can, optionally, have a screen.
