How would I automate filtering a multiselect list when I select a specific value in another field?

Hello,

In Jira Cloud is there a way to automate filtering a longer list in a multi-select field based on the value selected in another custom field single select list?

For example:

Single Select list (We'll call it "Group") contains:

• Alpha
• Bravo
• Charlie

The Multi-Select list (We'll call it "Options") contains:

• Option 1
• Option 2
• Option 3
• Option 4
• Option 5
• Option 6
• Option 7
• Option 8

We would like to be able to filter the Options list so it only shows relevant values based on the value selected in the Group list.

If Alpha is selected in the Group list then the following would be considered relevant:

• Option 1
• Option 4
• Option 5
• Option 6

If Bravo is selected the following would be considered relevant:

• Option 1
• Option 2
• Option 3
• Option 8

If Charlie is selected:

• Option 2
• Option 6
• Option 7
• Option 8

This is a simplistic representation of what is it we would like to accomplish but I hope it is sufficient.

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

You would need an app in order to do this, I have used Scriptrunner in the past to do something similar. Check out the Marketplace for other apps that can do this, there are scripting apps and external data apps that can achieve this.
