Hello,

I'm the creator/admin of a team managed project using Scrum template.

I'd like to assign some tasks and bugs to specific Stories. But also, I'd like to visually see them in Backlog view (or when carried to specific Sprint) that they're connected. An example:

Story1

   Task1underStory1

   Task2underStory1

   Bug1underStory1

Story2

   Task1underStory2

   Bug1underStory2

I've seen this done but i haven't been able to create it myself, could you please assist?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Sub-tasks are not useful in backlogs, so you won't get to see them in this structure (you don't estimate them, you don't bring them into a sprint, nor can they be ranked outside the issues of which they are a part)

But you can get to see them in a backlog - add the "sub-tasks" field into the issue display in the backlog, and you'll see them listed as part of their containing issue.

Just to add to Nic's answer, on the broader topic of viewing issues in their full hierarchy, Atlassian's primary view for this is Advanced Roadmaps, which is part of Jira Premium. Among many other things, it also allows easily moving issues between parents. There are also various options available in the Atlassian Marketplace, if you are open to this.
