Hej!
As we all know, e.g. Atlassian has ended its Server support for Jira Software (and other products):
Jira Software expired on 14/Feb/24 2:00 PM, and you can
currently only upgrade to versions released prior to this date.
However, Atlassian still releases newer versions for Jira (and other non-cloud and non-datacenter products) and Atlassian is also sending out Security Advisories & Bulletins related to versions released AFTER the above date.
Question: Under what circumstances can a non-cloud and non-datacenter customer upgrade to these fixed LTS Server versions of e.g. Jira (for example to Jira Server 9.12.5 (LTS) released on 06-Mar-2024)?
As said, technically, no Server version released after 14/Feb/24 can be installed as the license has been expired for all customers. How come that there are still updated LTS versions released after that date?
Thank you for some enlightenment!
Martin
PS:
This is what I mean:
Hi @Martin Wilhelm ,
Welcome to the Community! Hmm... officially, as described in the Atlassian documentation: "Support for Server products ended on Feb. 15, 2024. Server products and apps no longer receive technical support, security updates, and bug fixes for vulnerabilities"
https://www.atlassian.com/migration/assess/journey-to-cloud
You could upgrade Jira Server, but as indicated here, the latest released versions are 'Data Center' only:

Hej!
Thank you for your answer.
The latest LTS version 9.12.5 (the one I am talking about) is clearly NOT a 'Data Center' version. Please have a look at the above screenshot. It got released after the official EOL deadline and is just another LTS release of the Server version and it contains security fixes.
The mystery still stays unsolved. :)
