How to upgrade 6.0.3 to Jira 7?

Why too much information on this forum to digest easily/quickly.

We are currently running JIRA 6.0.3 with Crucible and looking to upgrade to the latest version.

We have maintenance until year end.

What is the upgrade path and are there any licensing cost increases?

Yes, volume here is a known issue, I was talking to Atlassian about doing something about it at Summit last week. 

Your licence entitles you to use any version released before it expires, so you can jump to any version you want at the moment.

I would probably upgrade JIRA to 6.4.4, then 7.2, bearing in mind there are significant changes between 6 and 7 (so plan for a 6.4 to 7.0 just in case)
