I'm currently using one of our local Jira sites for testing. After creating an Issue I'm attempting to update the original estimate in Timetracking. This is supposed to be possible if you're not in Timetracking legacy mode, which we are not. Still, there is no edit 'pencil' you can click to update the field like you can for other fields.
Help please?
I found that I could update the original estimate by editing the entire record. In that GUI it was editable.
Hello @Carl Frederick (2K)
Welcome to the community.
You should be able to just click in the field and change the value. Jira Cloud doesn't use the pencil icon to indicate a field can be edited. Hover your mouse on the field and it should turn gray. Then click in it and you should be able to edit it.

I'm not using Jira Cloud, just a local site as I mentioned in the report. It doesn't let you update the field, as I mentioned in the report.

Hello @Carl Frederick (2K)
Pardon my confusion. Your post is flagged as Jira Cloud for Deployment Type.
When you say "a local site" do you mean you are using Jira Server installed on your own system somewhere?
If so, what version of that are you using?
Can you provide a screen image of what you see?
Can any of the other fields in the issue be edited?
Do you have a document that you are referencing that tells you that you should be able to edit the field? Can you provide a link to that document?

I just noticed that I can edit the entire Issue using the Edit button on the upper left, and using that I can update the estimate. Let's call this resolved. Thanks!
