How to stop incessant notifications

I get TOO MANY notifications from JIRA. I want to be more of a daily summary for changes made to tickets I follow (I follow 200+ since I oversee product management for whole suite) - BUT, I don't need every.single.update.ever made to those. Same for Confluence. 

What I do want is ability to immediately see when I'm @-signed (which I do now, which I have Outlook rules to move to separate inbox), but then it requires me to have separate inbox to filter out non-mentioned updates. Sometimes, when I'm mentioned in the sole comment of the update, it sends two emails...  How can this be better configured to avoid so much 'noise'?

If you are System admin or project admin then you can edit the notification scheme if not please contact your administrator to assist with this. If you are an admin I can help walk you through the changes.
