Until today we've been able to update the issue status within the issue view. Now it has disappeared across our entire org - dozens of projects.
The only way to update an issue is to drag it within the board view, which is a pain.
I've tried to configure the project but I can't find status as an option. I asked the AI but it suggested something about updating Post Functions within the workflow. But I can't find them. I can access the workflow but I don't see anything about a Post Function.
How do I get my status field back?
Thank you.
Hello @Neil Dobson ,
Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)
As per the recent change, the Status field will now appear directly under the work item’s Summary, making it easier and faster to find and update the status of your work. We are moving the status field to a more visible spot, simplifying your workflow and making Jira feel more intuitive.
You can find detailed information in this community article:
Easier status updates for work items
Can you please check if the status dropdown is present in summary section?
Thank you
Ah yes, thank you. It is indeed there. I didn't spot this and no one else did either.
For anyone else, its under the title.

Hello @Neil Dobson
Can you confirm if your projects are team-managed or company-managed? The way the Status field works is different in each, so that will help us find the cause.
Thanks,
Shreeja

Sorry, I was asked this question before. I don't think anyone in the company has experience to know how projects are managed. Is there way to determine this by just looking at project configuration?
