I am not able to see the any of the work item which are in Done status category in completed work item in burndown report
Hello @Branden Dbritto
Good day!
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
In Jira, the burndown report does NOT use Status Category to determine completion. Instead, it uses board column position — specifically, an issue is only considered as "completed" in the burndown when its status is mapped to the rightmost column on your board as outlined here:
To check the status-column mapping, you can perform the following:
Go to your board
Select ... (More settings) > Configure board
Go to Columns
Drag all statuses that represent completed work into the rightmost column
The column with the green strip at the top is the one Jira treats as "done" for burndown purposes
To explicitly set the "Resolution" on these work items, you can follows the steps outlined in https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/best-practices-on-using-the-resolution-field-in-jira-cloud/.
I hope this helps!
Thank you for your quick response. This is really helpful.
I want to understand on below
by changing this board setting now the work items are reflecting under completed work item.
However, there are two options in the burndown report "Completed work items" and "Work items completed outside of sprint".
All my completed item are showing under "Work items completed outside of sprint".
Could you please let me know the reason for this?

Hello @Branden Dbritto
Glad that helped :)
Issues appear under "Work items completed outside of sprint" if they were marked "Done" outside of the active sprint timeframe. This happens when an item is:
Marked complete before it is added to the sprint.
Assigned to the sprint but completed before the sprint officially starts.
You can verify these exact timestamps by checking the work item's History tab to compare when it was added to the sprint against its completion date.
Thanks!
