To set the due date to be visible on the card itself, you need to modify your board settings.
Are you using a team-managed or company managed project?
For company managed, you would need to click on three dots > Configure board > Card layout and then you specify the Due date field. You should also be looking for this layout if you are using a Kanban or Scrum board. For Scrum this layout can be on the backlog or active sprint.
