How to set Project Setting in Classic project kanban?

I have some issues which i don't know where the project category and default assignee option dropdown data came from. and i want to know where to set it. thanks

Hello @George Vie,

Are you Cloud or Server? I don't have access to a Jira Server right now to check if it's the same options, but on Cloud you have two options for the default assignee:

• Unassigned - only if "Allow unassigned issues" is enabled in the General configuration menu
• Project lead - this is defined in the project Details menu

As for the project categories, they are defined in the global Project categories menu (i.e., if you're on Cloud: https://yoursitename.atlassian.net/secure/admin/projectcategories/ViewProjectCategories!default.jspa)

Thanks for the reply, i found the Project Categories thanks to you but still working on the default assignee, is there anyway to add the default assignee option?

Users with assignable permission for a particulate project will be list below in the assignee field.

Assignee filed is a user picker field and not a drop down list.

Go to project settings->project permission->assignable user(to know who have assignable permission)

if you go to Administation/projects you will see the Categories menu on the right where you can define them

if you open a project, the project settings (cog, bottom left) will allow you to change the category and default assignee.

oh if you're telling me how to set the default assignee or project categories my answer is yes i know it.

but what i want to know is how to add the option inside the dropdown.
let say my default assignee only has 2 option

how to add C?

Hi @George Vie

the user choices are project lead or unassigned. If you have components in your project, the component owners are available. 

Else use a post function on the create transition to set assignee.

there is an option on component configuration to set an assignee. I think this means if you select a component for an issue then that is the assignee. 

Could components be used to align your issues with assignees in your case? They are only tags for information ultimately.
