How to send automation email 3 days prior to start date

I am trying to send an automation email out to assignee 3-5 days prior to their start date. How would the automation process begin.

Not sure if you are open to use 3rd party apps to solve this, however, I'd like to invite you to check out our app:

Notification Assistant for Jira 

It allows to create fully customizable notifications where you can set a schedule and filter them based on a number of conditions (including the start date).

Hello @Darius Fields

You can use the Schedule trigger to run an automation daily or a chosen interval.

Then you can either just send out a Notification or compound a list of issues for each distinct assignee.

This is an automation we are using to send out a list of issues per distinct assignee for all issues due the next 3 days so they won't get spammed for each single issue that is due.
