In the past we've purchased JIRA (Server) 10 Users: Starter License, but didn't used it. Now we want to start using this license with our server on docker in our internal network. We installed the server Jira Software 9.12.19, using Server ID we obtained License Key and pasted it into the Versions & licenses but still it shows us "Your Jira Software trial will expire in 29 days". How can we revive our license and start using it?
If it were still possible to use that server license, it would be for the server version you once purchased it for. Back in the day when server still existed, you could purchase a license that was perpetual, but you still needed to pay a yearly maintenance fee to be allowed to upgrade to a higher version of Jira. If you didn't pay that fee, your license would only be supported on Jira versions that were already released at the end of the year in which you purchased the original license.
That is the theory behind how server licenses used to work.
As of today, server is no longer supported and the end of life of the other on prem version of Jira was announced as well. To be totally honest, the better option (definitely if your team is under 10 users), would be to start a cloud instance of Jira instead.
Hope this helps!
