@Dharani Dharan D Unfortunately, once issues are permanently deleted in Jira Cloud, they cannot be restored natively through Jira itself. Recovery would only be possible if your organization is using a third-party backup or restore app that maintains backups of Jira data.

I’d recommend checking with your Jira Administrators to see whether any third-party backup solution or Marketplace backup app is being used in your environment.

Hello @Dharani Dharan D ,

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)

Once an issue has been deleted, it is sadly not possible to recover the same, as the deletion of the issues deletes it from the backend as well.

Having said this, It may be possible for you to recover some of this data on your end, by considering any of the following solutions:

  1. If these issues were exported recently, you can try importing them to a new project, check, and then move them to the required project if the import looks good. This process is explained in this article.
  2. If you have a site backup before the issue deletion, you may restore it on an empty site to get the required issue(s) from there.
  3. Some data could be recovered from the Atlassian Cloud Emails sent to your users.

We have a feature request for trash to be implemented for issues as well. It is tracked here:

Hi @Dharani Dharan D !

Unfortunately, Jira doesn't provide a restore option for deleted issues. If they were deleted, the options are to restore them from a backup or to contact Atlassian support.

If you want to prevent such a situation in the future, I recommend using Issue History for Jira (Work Item History) app from SaaSJet.

With its help, you will be able to do the following:

  • Track the complete Jira issue change history

  • Monitor deleted issues and restore them if needed

  • Export full historical data in Excel, CSV, or PDF formats

Track and restore deleted work items in Jira. Monitor deleted issues and recover them anytime

Hope it will be helpful!
