How to restore the Jira if database has some issue.

Ankur Gupta September 2, 2020

Hi Team,

There is some issue with the database. so i want to restore my Jira instance.

We have the following backup:

1. Xml backup which is under export directory.

2. Jira data directory which i am taking daily using a custom script.

Now i want to restore the Jira using the import utility but none of the admin user is able to login to Jira.

Could you please suggest us how can we restore the system.

Regards,

Ankur Gupta

Where was the old system looking for your user accounts?  Has the new one been set up the same?

hi @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-

Thanks for your reply.

When we need to restore the system using the restore utility of Jira, then 1st we need to login to Jira using admin credential. At that point i am facing the issue. we are not able to login to Jira.

Is this because of the Database is having issue? if yes then how can we restore the system.

I don't know, you have not told us what user system you are using for user accounts.

When you say you can't log in, can you give us a proper description?  "Can't" tells me nothing - is it running ok and not recognising your username/password?  A blank screen?  An error message?  A penguin asleep on your keyboard?
