How to represent 2 values from 2 filters in 1 gadget

Jacek_Glebocki April 10, 2024

Hi,

I would like to create a gadget, that would be showing 2 values, each from different filters.

SINGLE WIDGET:
Filter 1 - 20

Filter 2 - 30

I know its a weird ask, but perhaps someone know how to do this?

Hi Jacek - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You need to provide a lot more details. Is this a single field? Two different fields?

In a sentence, you can't have a gadget run against two filters per se. But you can combine your filters into a single filter and then attached that filter to the gadget.

Hello @John Funk , I would like to bring number of:

newly created bugs within X period - Filter 1,

Number of Closed Bugs within the period X - Filter 2

So New Bugs vs Closed bugs

Or Number of:

items with Label - XYY - Filter 3

items with Label - 1234 - Filter 4

So Items with Label XYZ vs Items with Label 1234

It can be represented as 2 values next to each other, with Fileter names, label names, status names - whatever to indicate what these 2 values mean.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. There is an existing gadget called Created vs. Resolved Chart that will probably get you what you need for the first one.

For the second, you should be able to use the Issue Statistics gadget to show your counts.

Just be sure to craft your filter first for the issues you want to see. Then attach the gadget to the filter.

Curious why that report did not show what you wanted based on what you posted. What was missing?

Thank you @John Funk , its not exactly what i meant, but i managed.
Obviously paid plugins provide functionality im after, but there is no budget for the fancy stuff. Ideally Jira would have some of such basic functionality built in.

Hi @Jacek_Glebocki,

This can be easily done by using the Advanced Issue Filter Formula gadget offered by our Great Gadgets app.

This gadget lets you calculates from simple (COUNT, SUM, MIN, MAX, AVERAGE) to complex math formulas against the fields/issue from up-to 6 filters.

For you case, all you have to do is to configure the gadget to apply COUNT formula on each of the two filters and display the results.

See examples of this gadget and the many others offered by the same app in these articles:

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@stonikbyte.com.
