I need to override the DefaultProjectRoleService class that contains methods for adding users in roles

Yes, i read in the Atlassian's documentation is possible to do that in version 4.3 Jira but I do not know if it there's an alternative in JIRA 4.4

Uh? you labelled this for OnDemand? surely not? you can't do anything like that to the OnDemand environment. The last time I tried this, it was only possible with source code changes. Do you really want to do that?
