How to remove fields: "Affects version" and "Fix Version"

We were trying to remove the fields "Affects version" and "Fix Version". We removed it from the screen, however the fields still appear when we mark the issue in the backlog or in the sprint. 

How can we remove the field completely even when marked on backlogs or sprints?

Try hiding them in the field configuration

I tested this in my Stage environment and I can confirm that it works.
