My team uses Jira Server. We installed the Jira Server app for Slack, so that we could receive notifications about Jira activity in Slack. However, we needed to filter the notifications (which Jira Server can’t do for us), so we added a channel that does allow us to filter our Jira notifications.
Our problem is that we now want to get Jira Server off of our Slack sidebar, but can’t figure out how to do so. We can’t permanently remove the app, or it will stop the notifications into the new channel we have set up. When I click ‘x’ to remove the app from my sidebar, it reappears as soon as a new notification comes through.
Any suggestions on how to remove the Jira Server app from my Slack sidebar without needing to uninstall the app?
Hi @Carlie Frydman,
Welcome to the community!
You can try archiving the slack channel where you do not want have the notifications.
Or, the Slack Admin can remove the Jira Server App from the Integrations setting in the associated slack channel.
Further, you can also delete the Slack integration settings in the Jira Server as well.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Vamsi
Hi Vamsi,
Thank you for your feedback. It looks like either the second or third option you listed could work for us. I'm a Slack admin but am having trouble figuring out where to go to remove the integration between Jira Server and Slack. Can you please point me in the right direction?
