How to populate a custom field during issue status change

Hi, 

I want to populate a customer field named RCA (Root cause analysis) when the Jira issue status is marked or changed to "Closed" or "Done" or "Not a defect"

This custom field should be mandatory to fill during status workflow transition as mentioned above.

Please suggest how to achieve this.

Hi Abhinay - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You should place a Required Field validator on the transition to each of those statuses.
