How to migrate specific Jira Project (Team Managed) to another site (cloud)

chrishanditya February 18, 2022

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to migrate specific Jira Project (Team Managed) to another site (cloud) with the same Project Type (Team Managed)?

I was try use default feature from jira "migrate cloud site" (gg + migrate), unfortunately only project type in Company Managed can be migrate.

Should you have any good idea, please kindly share here.

Thanks and Regards,

There was a similar question on this earlier today. I will provide the same answer here.

My suggestion would be to export all issues to a CSV file then use that file to import into your new cloud instance. Obviously you will have to take care on what you export and what you import. I expect some massaging of the CSV file might be in order before importing. Further, I highly recommend importing one or two test issues from your existing project into the new project in the new instance until you get it just right. This way you can save the configuration file and use it to import the balance of your issues. Another option is to search the marketplace for project migration tools. However if I'm only doing one or two projects I would stick with CSV personally.

"Obviously you will have to take care on what you export and what you import. I expect some massaging of the CSV file might be in order before importing." Would you mind offering specifics about this comment? For TMP, is it possible to preserve attachments, comments, and links? Do custom statuses and issuetypes get in the way? Thank you in advance.
