How to migrate an issue type to another workflow

Iro Karavasili

Hello all,

I am new here and I need help with an issue.
I have 2 workflows under 1 workflow scheme. The scheme is used by 3 different projects.
I need to migrate Story & Task issue types from "JIRA Workflow" to "Defect Tracking Component driven workflow", as you can see in the photo.

I would like to know if this kind of change is going to affect all the 3 projects that are under this workflow scheme or there is a way to avoid that (except for create a new workflow).

Hello,

You should edit the Workflow scheme and attach the Story and Task issue types to the Defect Tracking Component driven workflow. After it you will apply changes and then all Epics and Stories will be converted to the new workflow.

It will affect all your 3 projects.

@Alexey MatveevIf he doesn't  want  it to  affect  three project  he has to  make a copy  of the workflow scheme or  create new one  and associate workflow with issue types  and  then use it in  one of  these 3 project!

@Iro KaravasiliJust  make  a copy of Workflow scheme,  then once logged  in  as JIRA admin,   go to   Admin button  > Issues >  Workflow schemes ,   it will  be under  inactive click  the arrow,   there you  can  associate issue type with  workflow which  you  have added/assigned by  "Editing"  the  scheme.

Best!
