How to make empty fields appear on screen

Shanmukha Teja Badana

Normally if there is a text field and if we not fill any value then it is not appearing on view screen, but we are expecting that field to be appear on view screen eventhough if we are keeping that field empty.

@Shanmukha Teja Badana ,

Sadly that's not how Jira handles fields. If a field is empty it will be hidden from the view screen.

A workaround would be to add a default value of "None" or something similar.

There is an open development ticket for it so I suggest you vote and follow that.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-2997

edit: it seems that ticket has been closed so i'd suggest to read the explanation there. It does seem to be configurable on the new issue view

The ticket was closed but only indicates a workaround of using "none" as a default, which is not a good solution.

If it's not possible to show an empty field, then why can I see "Severity" as "(unset)" when it's value hasn't been set?
