I am new to Jira and have recently been assigned to be an administrator although I do not use Jira in my daily work. I hvae been asked to make both Root Cause and Sprint required for "Bug" issue type and do not know where to begin. I have been trying to search for similar requests but usually come up with no results.
If the fields should always be required no matter what status the issue is in, you need to change the field configuration, have a look at Changing a field configuration. If the fields should only be required for a specific status transaction, you can use workflow validator to make a field required, see Advanced workflow configuration
