There is a 'permanent link' option (chain symbol) next to each comment, which can be used to link and focus that comment directly. Great.

But how can I link to a specific comment within a comment of the same issue?
When I use the 'permanent link' the linked comment isn't focused, as if it was when opening the same link in another tab. So a workaround would be to open that 'permanent link' in another tab. But how can I do that in a new comment to the same issue?

Hello @Richard ,

Thanks for reaching out and this behavior looks to be a partial regression of an older bug that had issues with the set focus event.

I created a new Bug report for this at the following link, please feel free to add yourself as a watcher if you would like to receive updates on the status, or add any comments on the request if you have any additional feedback as covered in the Implementation of New Features Policy:

Unfortunately, the only current workaround is to either open the permalink in a new tab as you noted or refresh the page to trigger the focus event on a page load

Regards,
Earl
