How to limit Jira objects with Configuration Manager

Zachary Singh
July 21, 2021

Hi there,

We are in the process of migrating a subset of our data and users from our current instance into a new instance for a separation of teams. We are utilizing the Configuration Manager from Botron. We are running into some issues with only wanting to migrate some items to the new instance.

We have been able to export the projects and their issues properly, however we need to also migrate the Dashboards and Filters utilizing the System Snapshot. When we go to deploy that snapshot it brings over all of our projects, screens, issue types etc. However we do not want all of the info in there, but when we do the selective merge it does not allow for those items to not be added. '

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey @Zachary Singh, you don't need to create a system snapshot to export all filters and dashboards. You can achieve that using your project snapshots, where you have the ability to select the additional filters and dashboards you want to migrate along with your selected projects. Have a look at the docs Filters and Dashboards.

Cheers.
