Hello,
currently we're using op manager for monitoring the devices in our environment and usin jira for ticket management.
We would like to have automatically opened ticket for the alarms which are shown in op manager . Any advices about this matter would be appreacited . Regards.
Hi Berk,
Thanks for the question. Well this is something OpManager now supports natively, so you don't need any custom scripting to get alarms turning into Jira tickets.
OpManager integrates with both Jira Service Management Cloud and Jira (on-premise/Data Center). Once it's set up, any alarm that meets the criteria you define is automatically raised as an issue in Jira, with the device, severity, and alarm details mapped into the issue fields. Repeated alerts can be consolidated into a single issue (or reopen an existing one) so you avoid ticket clutter.
The setup is two quick steps:
1. Connect Jira — Go to Settings → General Settings → Integrations and configure your Jira details. For Jira Cloud you'll generate an API token in Jira and paste it here; for on-premise you'll point OpManager to your Jira URL/port.
2. Decide when tickets get created — Go to Settings → Notifications → Notification Profiles → Add, choose "Log a Ticket," select Jira, pick your project and issue type, then map the fields (Summary, Description, etc.). You can scope it to specific devices, severities, and time windows, and even add a delay so short-lived alarms that auto-resolve don't create noise. There's a "Test Action" button to confirm a ticket is created before you save.
Step-by-step docs here:
• Jira Service Management Cloud: https://www.manageengine.com/network-monitoring/help/integrate-opmanager-with-jira-servicemanagement-cloud.html
• Jira Service Desk (on-premise): https://www.manageengine.com/network-monitoring/help/integrate-opmanager-with-jira-servicedesk.html
If you let me know which Jira edition you're running (Cloud vs. on-prem/Data Center), I'm happy to point you to the exact steps. Feel free to reach out to opmanager-support@manageengine.com if you'd like a hand getting it configured.
I'm not aware of anything on the Atlassian side that does any integration, so it may be worth checking the docs for opmanager to see if it has anything.
If not, then I'd be looking at getting opmanager to simply push data into JIRA over the REST interface when events occur.
