When I want to display images in the description field or in the comments, I use the rich text editor button to upload the image. I do not use a link to the image as I dont want to host the image on a server.

Unfortunately uploading the image automatically turns it into an attachment and it will show under the attachments category. If you embed a couple of images in your description or comments this quickly clutters up the attachment list and you easily miss the actual important attachments.

Is there any way to hide attachments from the attachment list? I want to have images in the description and comments but I dont want them to be attachments.

Hi @Obenaus_ Karsten

This is intended behaviour.

Any image uploaded in a rich text field or comment will be listed in the attachment section.

Hi @Obenaus_ Karsten

I think Jira automatically treats any image uploaded through the rich text editor (in a description or comment) as an attachment. There isn’t a built-in option to hide these inline images from the attachments section; Jira always lists every uploaded file there, even if it’s only used for display in text.

I think you should see any add-on in the marketplace or use links instead of inline images.
