How to get the total effort logged in a sub task within a defined time period

I have a set of 5 Sub-tasks in which my team has been logging effort from Jan 2014 till date. I would want to get the total effort logged within these Sub-tasks from the time period Jan 2015 to March 2015.

i.e. from the total effort logged in these sub-tasks since Jan 2014, I would like to get only the effort logged between the period Jan 2015 to March 2015. 

Is there a way to query this or get the time spent report in an excel?
