I was in a hurry to enter an issue and dismissed a Jira tutorial thing that was probably warning me about the new update. I can no longer use Text Formatting Notation to quickly enter my issues in Jira and it is driving me insane.
I want to at least be able to use # to create a number list quickly for repro steps.
Please help--how do I get original Jira Create issue back?
Here is a link to the page that was mentioned in the pop-up you saw.
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/what-is-the-new-jira-issue-create-experience
That page also talks about the new keyboard shortcuts available for markdown. Instead of using #, use 1.
I don't believe you can revert, though the last thing the article says is that this new experience applies only when you click the Create button in the menu bar. If you create your issue in another way, then apparently you get the old experience.
Thank you, you are a lifesaver! In the link you sent there is a how to to revert to the original way under FAQ.
You can change it back in Settings, Personal Jira settings, Jira labs to edit it back.
