How to find all unresolved Parent issues with no Sub-tasks?

Is there a way to find all open issues with no sub-tasks, without using any external plugins like script runner? I've been trying to write a query for this and haven't had any luck. I've searched the web and run into the same answer (ie. Use a plugin like script runner).

Is that really the only way to find issues I'm looking for? If yes, does anyone know why standard Jira doesn't support the Sub-tasks field in advanced queries?

Thanks,

Marco M.

Hi @Marco Mejia - Unfortunately, you will not be able to run a JQL advanced query to search for the subtask requirement you are looking for. Here is an open Atlassian ticket asking for subtask related querying to be included into native JIRA capability. If you are ready to explore a laborious workaround, there may be a way to do this using custom field configured to track subtasks under a parent issue and querying on this custom field in your JQL.

Hope this helps!
