Hi @Shivanandaiah Kulkarni --CNTR,

Since you do not mention your hosting type (DC or Cloud), there may be a small difference. In Data Center, there is an edit button on your ticket that raises a separate screen where you can modify earlier values. In the cloud, you can just edit fields on the ticket inline: just select a value and update it.

To do so, you will need edit permissions in the space where the ticket is stored. Without that permission, you won't be able to modify anything.

On a side note - if the ticket you created is in Jira Service Management (JSM) and not Jira (Software), and you raised it through the help center portal, you won't be able to edit the ticket from the portal anymore. If you want to add information to such a ticket, you will need to do so through comments on the ticket - if necessary, a service desk agent can then modify any fields through the backend, but this change won't be visible to you on the portal.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Shivanandaiah Kulkarni --CNTR

You need to have the Edit Issues permission assigned to you if you are using a company-managed project. Which fields you need to change? Based on that answer, you would need additional permissions:

  • Schedule Issues - if you need to rank your issues in your project

Since you need to change the value of the fields of your issues, edit issues permission is enough.

Hi @Shivanandaiah Kulkarni --CNTR ,

If you have Jira admin access, then check the edit permissions and check if your worktype have edit screen configured.

Then you or your concern role can able to edit the existing Jira issues.
