How to edit (NOT replace) list of users who can transition in a workflow

bryce ready

In a TEAM MANAGED project, I have restrictions on which users can transition tickets into a status in the workflow.

I have a bunch of people currently able to do this, and I need to add some people.

When I edit the transition rule, it presents me with a BLANK list of people.  I only want to add, not reset the list (or have to re-type it!).  Why does it not show the current people by default?  Do I really need to re-type every time?

Hello @bryce ready

I am working with a Jira Cloud Free subscription and I have not been able to replicate your experience so far. When I go into a Team Managed project to edit the workflow this are my steps:

1. Click Project Settings

2. Click Issue Types

3. Select the issue that has the workflow with the transition restriction.

4. Click Edit Workflow

5. Click on the transition in the diagram.

6. Click on the "Restrict who can move..." block on the right.

And what displays for me is the information I had previously entered.

Are you using different steps?

HI @Trudy Claspill .

Nope, those are exactly the steps I follow, and I see the screen from your first screenshot.  I click on the transition on the right, as you say.

In your second screenshot, the "Only allow these people to move issues using this transition" field is blank for me.

Hm, how many people do you have in the list currently?

I have just a personal Free instance where I tried this so I don't have a bunch of users I can add.

Perhaps the issue has something to do with the number of people in the list.

Or, is there anybody in the list who has subsequent been removed from product or site access?

I recommend that you contact Atlassian Support directly about this.

I currently have nine (9) people on the list in question.  Maybe you're right, I should reach out to support.

Thanks!
