When an attachment is added to a task, I see it in the Jira server app, but cannot click on it, to view it or download it.
I can only see a small preview image. Do you have the same problem?
Hello @Max_Mustermann
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
I see that you flag this issue as Jira server, however, could you please confirm to us if you are not using Jira Cloud instead?
I ask this question because we have recently created a bug about this behavior on Jira Cloud:
Not possible to download attachments in Android Mobile Jira app
If you are using Cloud, please vote and watch the bug to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates. Now, if you are using the server, please provide us if you are returning any errors when you try to open the attachment and try to reboot your device and make sure the same problem happens.
Also, please confirm if the following workaround works for you:
- Tap and hold the attachments, then you'll get redirected to the browser version of JIRA Cloud.
- There, if you log in, you can see the file and then, by clicking at the share button, you can select to open with a different app and/or save it.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Hello @Petter Gonçalves ,thanks for your reply! I can confirm that this is an issue for Jira Server. I'm using Jira Server and Jira Server App which are both at the latest version.
So, I do not get any errors, when I click on it, but the attachment doesn't open. It simply does nothing.

I have the exact same issue. Like attachment is just image without link to the file.

@Max_Mustermann Did you get your problem solved?
We have the same issue. When I try to download an attachment, i get the error that "downloading attachments is disabled by my organization".
