How to downgrade Jira Core

Hi,

We are having issues with Jira Core. We upgraded from 8.10.0 to Jira 8.12.2. We found out that we have some issues on our system. Is there a way to downgrade Jira Core to 8.5? As this is the version we know will work We could not find a way to downgrade on this version.  

Right now we are trying restore from our backup from 8.10 but the process hangs up to 90%.

There is no downgrade route, the upgrade changes the shape of the data to match the new versions.  You can't import data from later versions.

Your only option is to restore the 8.10 backup you took from before you did the upgrade to 8.12 

I'd be tempted to try to fix the problems in 8.12 though, what are they?
