How to display issue/issue type as text in issue search?

I wanted to see issue type as text when I am searching issues. Therefore I added these, as a column, "Type" and "Issue Type".

Now I can see Issue Type, as an icon and I cannot see Type at all.

Is it possible to have Issue Type as a text in search results?

There is no Type system field in JIRA. You are probably looking at a custom field. The only way to see the text instead of the icon is to either duplicate the value from the Issue Type field to your own field or edit the source code.

Yes. You are correct. Just realized that "type" is our custom field. No reason for trying to show that one.

Better to rephrase the question as:

Now I can see Issue Type, but as an icon.
