How to disabled custom fields for particular set of users/groups?

Shivali Jandial
June 22, 2015

Scenario:

We have created sample project and there are five Issue Types: Story, Epic, Task, Change Request and Bug for that particular project. We have added two custom fields: QA Comments and Client Comments in Jira.

  1. While creating an issue at client end, ‘Client Comments’ field should be enabled and 'QA Comments’ field should be disabled for Client group.
  2. After reaching issue to QA team, ‘QA Comments’ field should be enabled and ‘Client Comments’ field should be disabled for QA group.
  3. QA team should not be able to edit client team and Client team should not be able to edit QA team.

Is above scenario possible? If yes, please provide us with the steps / demo.

You can't do this in JIRA Cloud.
