How to disable Assign action?

Tuan Vo August 16, 2012

Hi all,

I created a custom workflows.

By this workflow, I would like to make sure all transitions to have screens.

And there are required fields for each screen.

However, Jira still enable the Assign action which user can navigate an issue to Assigned status without inputting any information.

Another situation is "Assign to Me" link follows the Assignee field when edit issue.

I tried to remove "Assign Issue" permission from Permission Scheme, then the Assign workflow disable too.

What should I do to disable the Assign action and use the Assign workflow?

Thanks,

TuanVo.

Module is disabled, still the option comes up. But doing this will be applicable for the instance. Could this be done for project specific?

If you want to hide it globally, you can simply disable that plugin module under Administration. If not, you are looking at doing some modifications to the issue operations plugin!

Thanks Jobin for the response.

Do you mean I can disable the "Action plugin" thus the red items and also besides items (Comment, More Actions) would be disable too?

Got it,

I can go to the plugin section, there's option for enable/disable each item of Ops bar which are actions. And it will effect to every projects in the server regardless the any other configuration.

I'll need to work with product management team first.

Thanks alot, Jobin.

You can remove the permissions to from Assign issues parameter under Permission schemes. Then you will not see the 'Assign' and 'Assign to Me' buttons on the top.

Hi Amit,

Thanks for the response.

However as I stated, removing the Assign Issue under Permission Schemes also hide the Assign Workflow which I want to use.

Tuan.
