I have accidently createdd a jira site which I have been trying to delete. However, there does not seem to be an option anywhere which shows I can delete this site. I am wondering if anyone has any documentation or can guide on this please.
Hello @Rizwan Ye
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
There is not a feature to delete a site directly.
You need to cancel the subscriptions to all products for the site. When the cancellations have been fully processed, the empty site will eventually be deleted by Atlassian.
If it is the only site in the Organization then you could delete the Organization, which will also delete the site.
Alternately if you have a paid subscription you can open a support case with Atlassian to get assistance.
Hi @Rizwan Ye
To echo @Trudy Claspill point, Jira doesn't have an "instant delete" button for the entire site to prevent accidental data loss.
If you want to make sure the site is gone, follow these precise steps:
Go to admin.atlassian.com and select your Organization.
Go to Billing > Manage Subscriptions.
For each product (Jira, Confluence, etc.), click the three dots and select Delete.
Once all subscriptions are deleted, the site will enter a "Deactivated" state. Atlassian will automatically purge the data after 60 days.
Important Note: If you are within the first 14 days of creating the site, you won't be charged, but you still need to follow the cancellation steps above to stop the site from existing.
Hope this clarifies the "waiting" part of the process!
