With the classic board, you could link fix versions to a parent version, so when a fix version is added to a ticket, the parent is automatically added as well. We used to use the classic board to create the parent relationships, but now that the classic board is gone, is there a new place to link fix versions to a parent.

An example of this:

Parent: Release 5.5

Sub fix versions: Sprint 1, Sprint 2, Sprint 3

So if Sprint 1 is added as a fix version on a ticket, Release 5.5 is also added as a fix version automatically.

Version hierarchy was deprecated and was never supported outside of Classic Boards. Sprints, Epics, and Versions do not have hierarchy at all in Rapidboards and Sprint assignment is handled separately than Version assignment.
